About Me

I am a mental health nurse who qualified from Teesside University in 2005. Having worked in both inpatient and community settings covering both adult and children services. I am experienced in the engagement and delivery of initial assessments into service, responsible for the care co-ordination of care delivery, ensuring evidence-based practice, a person-centered approach, and creating collaborative care planning with the individual, the family unit and the wider community if required.

Having worked with a wide variety of conditions including trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis, Bi-polar, ADHD and Autism. I am very aware of the similarities between some conditions and the possible overlap of experiences and the importance of ensuring the correct diagnosis is reached to support the person to reach their full potential in life.

I have also had the privilege to be able to facilitate communication further between individuals and their loved ones using behavioral family therapy to support the family unit in understanding lived experiences, a diagnosis, developing coping strategies or attaining personal, educational, or occupational goals.

I am passionate about ensuring safe, effective care delivery, with experience in clinical leadership, delivering supervision and ensuring clinical safety. Coproduction is at the centre of my personal beliefs and values to ensure that care delivery is responsive to the needs of the individual and their loved ones in this constantly changing world.
