Sophie Jones

About Me

I am an HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist, holding a master’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy from City University of London. Prior to this I completed an undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences at Mayno oth University, Ireland.

During my career I have worked with a wide range of autistic people from young children to adults, including those with learning disabilities and complex needs as well as individuals with minimal support needs. I am experienced in conducting both formal and informal assessments and providing tailored therapy to support differing communication needs.

I am passionate about empowering individuals, not only by supporting them with their difficulties but also by recognizing and fostering their strengths. My approach is rooted in neurodivergent-affirming practices, ensuring that the person’s preferences and needs remain central to my work.

In addition to my clinical practice, I am currently under-taking a Master’s in Clinical Research at City University London, where I am conducting research focusing on the challenges of autism assessment and diagnosis. My interest in research motivates me to explore these areas and contribute to a better understanding of autism.
